Elephant Toothpaste Explosion- Kids Science Experiment

Ryder had so much fun with this one!

Here’s what you need:

Bottle

Tray to catch foam

Funnel (optional)

Dry Active Yeast, 1 tsp

6% Hydrogen Peroxide (aka 20 Volume Developer at Sally’s Beauty Supply), 1/2 cup

Food Coloring, a few drops

Dawn Dish Soap, a few squirts

Steps:

1. Put 1/2 cup 6% Hydrogen Peroxide in the bottle
2. Add food coloring and dish soap to bottle as well
3. Put 2 tablespoons of warm water (don’t heat in the microwave, if it’s too hot- it will kill the yeast) in a cup
4. Add 1 teaspoon of yeast to warm water and stir
5. Add yeast mix to bottle and stand back to enjoy the reaction!
